The Fort City :

Chitradurga is one of the famous historical centers of Karnataka State. This city is about 200 kms from the Capital City Bangalore on National Highway No.-4 leading to Mumbai. it is a District Head Quarters and is connected by Rail & Road with all important cities and towns of the Karnataka State. This beautiful hilly green city is a seat of the famous charitable institution Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra Brihanmatha which is well known for its propagation of Social, Economical and Educational activities not only in Karnataka State but in other parts of India also.

Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra Vidyapeetha is one of  learning centre in Karanataka State which is now headed by His Holiness Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru of Sri Brihanmath with blessings of Swamiji and the generous help of philanthropist Vidyapeetha has started its Medical College at Chitradurga.
